Well, mostly Gundams anyway.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.comBlogger88125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-83345077732108905382013-09-20T08:51:00.000+01:002013-09-20T08:51:07.259+01:00Grand Theft Auto 5Alright... the title is pretty much self-explanatory.

I bought it on a whim(I didn't even pre-order it). Everyone was just talking about the game and luckily(sort of), I wemt to the shop, bought the game, walked out. Even better, it came with the pre-order Atomic Blimp bonus.

So yeah... I have to say, I got hooked and the gunplas will be put aside temporarily. But who knows, I might do some in-between gaming. :)

I'm taking it slowly... prime some 25+ pieces a day then let it dry for 24 hours. So the following day, I would paint it with my desired colour. Simple as. :)

At first, the gold part didn't look as I thought it would but after a while, I got used to it and looked quite alright. I wont be using the aluminium as the base because the gold colour doesn't turn up/materialize (sorry, can't find the proper word for it) too well and takes a lot of paint to actually see it on top so I'm trying out the white base colour.

So far it's looking fine. Will update again once I got the right arm finish. Or probably even before that.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-79678828474714102292013-09-11T13:44:00.000+01:002013-09-11T13:54:43.373+01:00PG Gundam Astray Red Frame ver.2 #01Alright... continuing from my 2010 post here about airbrushing my first ever Gunpla, the Perfect Grade Gundam Astray Red Frame.

Somehow, I stopped doing it after I finished airbrushing the shield. So starting with this post, I'm going to finish the whole model this time since I don't really have anything else to build. My other un-built gunplas are packed in a box and they're in the storage somewhere.

I'm going to keep the same colour scheme except for the inner frame which I will (try to at least) paint in gold instead of dark red(default colour of the frame).

This was taken back in 2009... 4 years(!!) already.

It took a bit longer to make due to me masking, painting anddrying some parts.

The flying platform was quite an experience and I also have to mentioned that metallic colour paint looks really nice. I also bought some canned spray from Amazon... they are made by Hycote and seems to work pretty well on plastic surface and most of all, it's f*ckin cheap @ ~£4.50 for a 400ml can.

And so, here's the final pic. :)

The platform actually has 4 different styles/forms depending on who you combine it with. The current one in the picture isn't really the one for LuBu but I like it that way. :)

As for my next one... I don't know yet although I really want to buy and build one RG Gundam kit. We'll see. Not sure when that's going to be. :)Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-76824262465678224162013-08-22T13:53:00.003+01:002013-09-08T14:05:16.382+01:00Ryofu Gundam #4And here we go!!

The complete build, sans the flying platform thingy. As mentioned on my previous post and as you can see in the pictures, the red paint on the weapon came off scratched. Looking at it now though, it doesn't seem too bad after all.... kinda like a faded effect?! :D

The horse fully assembled beside LuBu.

And here, the horse into a motorbike.

I will probably fully finish it by the beginning of next week.

The horse/vehicle thing is almost done. I just need to panel line around the gold thingy on the hip then I'm done with it. So the only thing left for me to do is the other vehicle... dunno what it's called.

Also, the spear weapon is done too. Unfortunately, the paint on it still wasn't dry when I slid it inside the hand so I scraped it and the colour came off... kinda sucks. :)

So here are the legs. Just need to panel line around the gold(used gundam markere here) markings.

And here's the horse that transforms. I didn't panel line according to the picture on the box

because it would simply be too hard and my liner is not thin enough so I left out a few.

Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-70875263636335428052013-08-20T16:14:00.002+01:002013-08-20T16:14:45.702+01:00Airbrush stuffI have to say... every time I finish airbrushing things, I always impress myself with the work I've done (even though it was a simple paint job :) ).
Those Vallejo paints works pretty neat. It does work, out of the bottle but I'd recommend thinning the paint a wee bit for much better flow. I'm using an airbrush with a nozzle size of 0.35mm so even though it works, the paint doesn't flow as it should... might be better using a bigger, 0.5 nozzle though.

Another thing, panel lining. The recent pigment liner I just bought, IMO, is as good as the Gundam (GM01-200) marker the I (and most likely other people who panel lines) use. It is made by Uni(Mitsubishi) and it's called "Uni Pin" with sizes from 0.05 to 0.7 I believe. Oh, and it's in 5 different colours too. I only have the black though.

Another update probably tomorrow or in a few days.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-39682393432159068612013-08-17T13:34:00.001+01:002013-08-17T13:34:45.313+01:00Just an updateFinally got the paints I ordered. Tried out the gloss top coat and it seems to work quite well. Although I should've done it once I finished painting the whole piece.... well, you learn something new every once in a while. :)

Will probably post a gundam-related update on Monday/Tuesday cause I'm not working on those days. Oh and I'm still working on that horse/vehicle thing.

Oh and I ordered the Vallejo Premium paint as they seem to work straight out of the bottle for airbrushing... at least according to the articles I read. I'll find out tomorrow once the base primer dries.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-58551799125957537452013-08-14T13:57:00.000+01:002013-08-14T14:01:07.216+01:00SomethingNo Gundam update today. Hopefully tomorrow but definitely sometime this week.

Been recently watching Harry Potter. Not a fan at all, just curious why almost everyone I know likes it. Currently watching part 6, The Halfblood Prince, and I have to say that I quite like it so far.

On another topic, I bought some crocodile clips and some bamboo sticks for airbrushing. Never really thought about buying them until a couple days ago.... even though I've started airbrushing for more than a year now I believe.
The bamboo sticks I bought are 14"(!!). I knew they were long but they seem to be longer seeing it in person. There are shorter ones but not thick enough to "slot in" to those croc clips. For less than £2(50 pcs), IMO, it's a good deal.

Bought them on eBay btw.

The figure is finally done, except for a few panel line here and there. The only thing left is the weapon, the horse/bike vehicle thing and that hovering vehicle thing.
I originally did not plan to paint the whole thing or at all but ever since I started working on the figure again, it just looked too plain and couldn't help but make it at least look good as it is now.

I ordered some more air brush paints so I will most likely just prime it until I get the paints. Hopefully I'm still interested in continuing. :D

It's been more than a year since I've updated this blog. Just gotten too busy mostly at work, is all. It seems a few things have changed as well on Blogger.

Anyways, I've finally finished my 2nd PG, the RX-78-2. Last year actually, I just wasn't into posting it here so here are some pictures I've taken.

This was nearly finish

Just a pose with the hatches open.

And this with the Core Fighter

So, that's finally done!!
Went to the next one, the mighty LuBu. From the SD Sangokuden series, #306. Well, I stopped working on it after a couple of days and only started doing it again today... after months of leaving it incomplete. Hopefully, it'll be done sometime this week.

Here's the one shot I took

Been busy playing with me new VITA so I haven't really done anything with my RX-78 yet.
We'll see how it goes.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-86647160101395240222012-02-23T12:08:00.000+00:002012-02-23T12:08:15.666+00:00PS VITA!!!I was a bit hesitant to buy it before it was released, but now, I'm glad I did buy the handheld console. This thing is freaking huge but very comfortable to hold and quite lightweight.
You gotta hold and play it to believe it I suppose.

One thing I don't like about transferring files is that you will need to have to download and install a software on your PC first before you can transfer files. And not the usual Right-click-copy-paste, everything is done through the VITA's file manager.

Still... an awesome device. :)Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-46465490899476648962012-02-19T09:10:00.000+00:002012-02-19T09:10:41.300+00:00Sony Alpha NEX-5nNow, I'm no pro-photographer or whatever, I'm just a newbie trying out various things with my new toy. :)

One day, I hope I'll be able to take those awesome macro shots you often see on the internet.

Here's some good(or not so good) test pictures I've taken. The last 2 shots were simply me being bored.

I was seriously bored and since I don't really browse Facebook anymore, there was really nothing to do so I dusted off the the big PG box and started doing some work on it.

Well, this Right Arm Unit was actually done a long time ago... probably a few days after I've finished the Head Unit back in August last year. So here it is.

Oh and since I'm now on FiOS, there's no point in me re-sizing the image size. :)

This is the shoulder piece unassembled.

The upper-arm part, again unassembled.

Partly assembled, with the lower part to be put together.

Here's the whole thing put together sans the outer armour. I did paint some parts with silver and gold for no particular reasons really. Sure took a lot of time but I really liked how it turned out.

And here's the hand. I really like how each fingers are each separated pieces. I have to say that the hand/s on the PG Red Frame was/were rubbish and well... every time I change the position of the fingers, they just fall off.

Oh, and I also painted the fingers gold and silver. :)

And here's the fully assembled Right Arm Unit. Since the outer armours are coated, you just can't avoid taking off some of the coating when snipping the parts off the frames.

The base colour of the frame is white(I guess) so I had to somewhat match the coated colour but unfortunately I only have silver as you can see on the pics.

I've already finished the Left Arm Unit today so I'll probably post tomorrow or something.

Oh and I used my Xperia Arc to take these pictures. I now have a proper camera since December. It's the Sony NEX-5n!!! "It's awesome" is all I can say. :)
Will probably put some random test pictures I've taken using the camera someday.

That's all for now.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-80917919116409797522012-02-14T12:17:00.001+00:002012-02-14T14:26:00.613+00:00Motorbike Repairs *UPDATE*So I brought my motorbike to my dealer's workshop yesterday, no news on it yet though. Hopefully I wont have to pay more than £150 for the repairs otherwise I would have to cancel my PS VITA pre-order. :)

Currently, the weather in London seems to be getting warmer again so I'm really looking forward to having my motorbike fixed.

Update 14:25:
Just rang them today and it seems that the part that needs to be replaced is on backorder unfortunately so that means I would have to commute for the time being.

Well, I got a weekly Bus pass until this coming Sunday so I should be fine... for now. :)Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-81254038239686360842012-02-11T08:45:00.000+00:002012-02-11T08:45:18.621+00:00WooooWell... I just had a very minor accident early this morning.

One TFL bus near Kensin Rise around 7:40 in the morning forced me to move/swerve further to the left and before I realised that there were frozen ice, it was already too late.

The worst part, the bus driver did jack shit to help and just drove away like nothing happened.

Anyways, my only injuries are a few scratches on my right knee and a little bit broken middle finger on my right hand. My motorbike didn't suffer that much damage either from what I could tell, probably thanks to the slippery road. Read brake lever is bent which is easily fixed, right mirror was bent upwards slightly which is easily fixed as well and the handlebar is bent as well.... so I guess it's nothing too serious as I managed rode away with those conditions.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-16970709544100236522012-02-10T11:49:00.000+00:002012-02-10T11:49:20.759+00:00It's "The-End-Of-The-World" YearMy first post in 2012!!

Still no updates on gunplas unfortunately.
Only here to say that I've stopped using Facebook for now. I want to know just how much I'll miss it.

So far, so good.

Somehow, I realised that my life revolves around Facebook and not the other way around. One of the top reason I stopped. Every time I wake up, the first website I open is Facebook.

The first 2 days were quite hard now that I don't really have a page in Facebook to open. :)
As I said, it's getting better.

That's it for now. Will probably update this more now than Facebook. :)Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-80006312507419030552011-12-25T21:50:00.002+00:002011-12-25T21:50:51.500+00:00Merry Christmas!!An update to the blog that never gets updated and when it does get updated, the topic is totally different. :)

Merry Christmas virtual visitors... if you guys even exists heheAlexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-8558623294793235002011-11-29T13:23:00.000+00:002011-11-29T13:23:27.085+00:00Update? NahStill no motivation finish my RX-78 unfortunately. Still busy with Anime and games. :)

I also think I would need to buy a new airbrush as I may have stepped on it accidentally. :DAlexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-68284205509366873172011-11-18T01:43:00.000+00:002011-11-18T01:43:43.695+00:00And I'm back!!Well, I didn't really go away, just didn't have time to continue making em gunplas. The RX-78 is still in the same condition from 3 months ago.

It's tough being a gamer, an avid anime fan and a gunpla hobbyist but I suppose being a gamer and watching anime comes first for me. And with Battlefield 3 being released, I've gotten less motivated to get my gunpla done. :)

Hopefully by the time I get my BluRay copy of Unicorn Vol 4 in December. I'll get my motivation back. :)

For now, I'm happily gaming(BF3, MGS HD Collection, FFXIII) and watching anime.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-88938830514680115242011-08-13T14:19:00.001+01:002011-08-13T14:19:41.795+01:00PG RX-78-2 Gundam 30th Anniversary EX Finish - Head Unit #01So I finally started doing my Perfect Grade one. I've finished doing the right arm but I wont put it up until I've done the left arm. :)
It's looking really good and to be honest, I kinda like it more than my old PG Astray Red Frame at the moment.

I've got some new pens too but I'll post it some other time.Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-25910002981207959962011-08-07T22:11:00.000+01:002011-08-07T22:11:30.840+01:00More Kotobukiya. 2nd post already?Well, I quickly went to Dalong's website to check his version of the Noblesse Oblige and he/she actually has one luckily.

Just wanted to show/compare how it looks without all the panel lining I did to it. Luckily the one on his/her website doesn't have any panel linings.

Quite a difference w/o panel lining.

Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-89410253026483821902011-08-07T21:54:00.000+01:002011-08-07T21:54:46.229+01:00It's August and it's done!!That's right, my CR-Hogire Rosenthal is finally finish.

I suppose I couldn't be bothered posting bit-by-bit updates about it. Probably wont be doing it anymore but we'll see. I do change my mind very quickly.

Anyways, here's the finished model.

By the time I took this, I still haven't finished the 2nd gun. The problem is, the gun is made out of only 3 or 4 pieces of plastic so I had to actually (and properly for the first time :)) use a masking tape. The golden parts on the gun as you can see aren't separated from the rest.

Weird pose I know. I'm not used to making poses because every time I do, some parts keeps falling off. :)
When I first finished the legs on the Rosenthal, I thought it was going to be bigger than the MG.
I'm now planning to do my PG RX78-2 Gundam. Even though I've got 4 or 5 more gunplas that I bought much earlier than the PG, I kinda don't feel like doing them... for some reason. Might have to do the Strike Noir first before I do the Sinanju(I want this one to be properly done, so I'm keeping it for now until I get used to doing airbrushing properly)..Alexhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02509080722511418709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7536791415287784948.post-50802566380578328842011-07-01T12:31:00.000+01:002011-07-01T12:31:14.137+01:00X-Japan came and wentSo I had the chance to finally see them perform live here in London. They started off their European tour here which was pretty awesome. One ticket seller nearly botched it for me though... f**kin bastard.

Anyways, when I arrived at Shepherd's Bush Empire, I was surprised how long the queue was. I was in it for an hour or so and people still kept coming. I would've also loved to get one of those X-Japan tees but there was another queue for that so I said f**k it.... but I kinda regret it not buying them now. :)
